Clinical Rotations

We highly value your clinical education and work hard to ensure you have a quality experience. All students will travel for the opportunity to learn how medicine is practiced regionally across the US.

Overview

Rotations run from August to August and include eight 6-week rotations, plus three Professional Practice Seminar (PPS) weeks back on campus, and a three-month online seminar in Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Health Care.

All students complete rotations in the following areas:

  • Family Medicine

  • Internal Medicine

  • Inpatient Medicine

  • Surgery

  • Emergency Medicine

Additionally, all students are required to spend time during the clinical year with clinicians who are board certified in women’s health, behavioral health, and pediatrics.

We are a travel program! Our students get to:

  • Complete clinical rotations all over the United States

  • Travel to and learn in diverse environments

  • Learn how to treat patients with varying degrees of access to resources

  • Discover where they do (and don’t) want to live and work after graduation

International rotations are an elective option for students that are interested. Most recently, students have gone to Thailand, Ecuador, The Philippines, Ghana, Argentina and Belize.
